“What’s that in your hand, Rosina?”
asks the old man.
“It’s a song,”
Rosina says.
“My music teacher gave
it to me.”
But then she drops the paper out the window.
“Oh, my song! Quick, Bartholo! Run down and get it!”
The old man leaves to get the song. As soon as he is
gone, Rosina looks down at the street. The count steps out
of the shadows.
Rosina says,
“Get the song before he does!”
The count grabs the paper and runs back into hiding.
Bartholo runs out onto the street, but there is no
paper for him to find. He guesses that Rosina threw a love
letter to someone. Bartholo goes back inside.
