When Patrasche was a puppy, he had a very
bad master. Patrasche had to pull carts full of pots
and pans every day. The man would often kick
Patrasche. He would whip the poor dog and hit
himwith sticks as well.
One day, Patrasche was pulling the cart. His
bad master was whipping and beating him. It was
very hot, and Patrasche was not feeling
well. He badly wanted water, but his
master would give him nothing. Finally,
the dog fell down.
