Introduction
This story is from a long poem. Virgil, a
Roman poet, started the poem in 29 BCE. He
was still writing parts of it ten years later! The
whole poem is called
The Aeneid
. It tells the story
of Aeneas, a Trojan. After Greece won the war
against Troy, Aeneas went to Italy.
The Aeneid
is
about Aeneas’s life before and after the war.
