Introduction
Joseph Jacobs was born in Australia in
1854. He wrote about stories and about history.
Jacobs collected many fairy tales, poems, nursery
rhymes, and other kinds of stories. He put
together two books about English fairy tales in
1890. They had 87 stories in them. The story “The
Three Sillies” was one of those stories.
