Introduction
Robert Southey wrote “The Three Bears”
in 1837. But his story came from an older story
in England. In the old story, there was a fox,
but Southey changed it into an old woman. By
1849, other people changed the old woman into
a young girl. In the early 1900s, people named
the girl Goldilocks. Since then, “Goldilocks and
the Three Bears” has been a popular story for
children.
