Birds and Prussian soldiers were much
more interesting to me than participles. And the
outdoors on a day like this was heaven.
“Maybe,”
I thought to myself,
“I should
not go to school. Maybe I should stay outdoors
and enjoy the sights and the sounds. But, no, I
cannot do that. I must go to school. School is very
important.”
I did not know why that was so, but for some
reason, it just seemed to be. Again, I began to run
to school.
