Introduction
Frank R. Stockton was an American writer
in the 1800s. He wrote many short stories and
books. Some of his most famous stories are
fairy tales for children. “The Lady or the Tiger?”
is a story often found in books about famous
American short stories. In fact, people today
use this phrase for many problems. If a problem
seems to have no good solution, people feel like
the princess in this story. They say, “It’s a choice
of the lady or the tiger.”
