Mulberry Street was a quiet street in a
pleasant
residential
neighborhood
.
On Mondays, people placed brightly colored
boxes on the sidewalk in front of their houses. Monday was
an important day on Mulberry Street where Jenna lived
with her family. That is because it was
recycling
day. On
this day, all the families on the street, including Jenna’s,
gathered their recycling. They
loaded
the boxes on the
sidewalk with paper, plastic, and cans. Then trucks came to
pick up all of it up and take it to the recycling center in the
city.
