Introduction
Carlo Collodi wrote his story about the
puppet Pinocchio in the 1880s. He sold the story
in chapters to a children’s newspaper in Italy.
Collodi wrote 36 chapters for the newspaper.
Later, the chapters were put together into a book,
The Adventures of Pinocchio. Disney’s 1940 movie
about Pinocchio is famous. However, Disney’s
puppet is very different from Collodi’s puppet.
