Introduction
Joseph Jacobs was born in Australia in
1854. He wrote about stories and history. Jacobs
collected many fairy tales, poems, and other
kinds of stories. He made two books called
English Fairy Tales
in 1890. They had 87 stories in
them. The story “Jack and the Beanstalk” was one
of those stories.
