Minos was the king of the island of Crete.
Daedalus and his son, Icarus, lived on the
island. They wanted to leave Crete. Minos did
not let them, though. He controlled the island
and the sea around it. Daedalus and his son
could not escape.
Daedalus was an inventor. He had made
a special prison on Crete. It was for the son of
Minos. His son was the dangerous Minotaur.
The Minotaur was half man and half bull.
The Minotaur’s prison had many walls and
doors. It was called a labyrinth.
Minos wanted to keep Daedalus on Crete.
Then Daedalus could not tell others the secret
of the labyrinth.
