was written in 1905 by
Frances Hodgson Burnett. She was from England,
but she lived and wrote in the United States.
She was famous for writing children’s stories.
At first,
A Little Princess
was a much shorter
story about Sara Crewe. Then it became a whole
book. Burnett also wrote a play based on the
same story. Two other popular children’s stories
by Burnett are
